病いの語り研究の可能性
Introduction to Illness Narrative Research
病いの語り（illness narrative）研究とは、主に社会学と人類学において1980年代以降に発展してきた患者経験の研究の総称である。その焦点は、病いや痛み、苦悩の経験を言葉によって意味づけていく側面に着目しつつ、本人が自らの病いをどのように捉え、それにどう対処しようとしているのかを明らかにすることにある。本講義では病いの語り研究の古典の一つであるアーサー・W・フランクの『傷ついた物語の語り手――身体・病い・倫理』を取り上げ、その後の論争や関係する経験的研究を検討しつつ、その可能性と課題を検討する。
This course provides an overview of illness narrative research, focusing on the work of Arthur W. Frank.

毎回、授業前に該当文献を読み込み、自分の意見をまとめて授業に臨む。報告を担当する際は、関連する文献や資料にも目を配り、十分な検討のうえで報告資料を作成する。
