死と死にゆくことの社会学
Sociology of death and dying
現代社会における死の問題の特徴は、個人の選択の強調と医療の関与の増大にある。本講義では、主に終末期医療に関わる様々なトピックを取り上げ、こうした現状を批判的に捉え直すことを試みる。なお、受講生には授業で学んだことを活かして死に関わる興味深い現象を自ら見出し、その背景や意味について考察することが求められる。
This course provides an overview of ethical and legal issues in end-of-life care in contemporary Japan from a sociological perspective.
終末期医療の現場で生じている様々な課題について基礎的な知識を得るとともに、それらの問題を文化や社会構造と関連づけて理解することができる。
