Reading the 1st Book of Aristotle’s Physics
アリストテレスの『自然学』は、アリストテレス自身の哲学的方法や概念が集約されている非常に重要なテクストです。またこのテクストは、ニュートンの古典物理学以前の自然探求の基本テクストであり、学問とは何であるかについての古代ギリシア的な理解を与えてくれます。実際に古代ギリシア語の原典で精読することを通じて、哲学や学問とはそもそも何であるか、ということについての理解を深めることが可能です。
『自然学』の第1巻は、タレスやヘラクレイトスやパルメニデスなど、現在では断片のかたちでのみ伝えられているさまざまな先行する哲学者の思想が吟味されています。イオニア学派やエレア学派における自然理解は、哲学や学問の領域だけではなく、文学的にも非常に大きな影響を与え続けています。必要に応じて、彼らの思想の特徴についても検討します。
We are going to read the 1st book of Aristotle's Physics, which ist one of the most classic text of philosophy. Until the Medieval Age it has been esteemd as the basic text for the natural phanomena. It gives also us the understanding, what the scientific method is.

・We aim to gain the ability to translate philosophical text in classical Greek into Japanese by oneself
・We aim to get accustomed to the conjugation and declension of the classical Greek and so to be able to analyse correctly
