Course Title (授業題目)

Elementary Statistics

授業の目的と概要

統計学の基礎を学ぶ。
特に、データ収集・測定の考え方の基本を理解し、代表値や変動の測度の算出、探索的データ解析、クロス集計表など、記述統計学の手法を身につける。

Course Objectives and Course Synopsis(授業の目的と概要)

This course serves as an introductory course on elementary statistics for social data analysis, which should be useful for students majoring in humanities and social sciences. It covers various topics in descriptive statistics to help students understand the basics of measurement and data analysis, ranging from central tendency, measures of variation to crosstabulation.

官庁統計や簡単な調査報告・論文を読めるようになるための基礎的な統計学について学ぶ。

Students learn about elementary statistical methods for interpreting academic and governmental reports that contain statistics and graphs.

教科書：小寺平治，1996『新統計入門』裳華房

授業時間外学習

教科書で予習・復習をする。
教科書の各章末にある練習問題を解く。

その他

(1) 人文統計学（推測統計と多変量解析の基礎）とあわせて受講することが望ましい。
(2) 社会調査士資格認定標準科目Cに対応。
(3) 受講者は Google Classroom 上での連絡を毎週確認すること。
