専門書・論文を読める英文読解力を身につけると同時に、西洋史研究についても理解を深めることを目指します。
The purposes of the course are developing English reading skills to read articles and books on European and American history, and deepening understandings of European and American history.

中世ブリテン諸島史を論ずるテキストを読む予定です。毎回、所定の箇所の訳稿を授業前日までに提出してもらい、それに基づいて授業を進めていきます。第一回目は打ち合わせ。以後は毎回訳読と解説です。1回あたり.15行くらいを読む予定です。
授業参加状況（70％）と学期末翻訳レポート（30％。所定の授業期間に読めなかったテキストの一部を学期末にレポートとして提出してもらい、獲得された読解力について確認します。）
読むテキストのコピーを配布、もしくはURLを共有します。
所定の箇所の訳を授業前に必ず作成・提出すること。予習でわからなかった箇所、読み間違えた箇所を中心に、復習を必ずおこなうこと。
