日本語史の方法
An introduction to Japanese historical linguistics
言語の歴史は古い文献を探ればわかるように思えるが、文献だけが言語の歴史を知る資料になるわけではない。また、古い文献を探ることにもさまざまな問題がある。そこで、ここでは、日本語の具体的な例を見ながら、言語の歴史（日本語の歴史）を探る方法について考える。同時に、古代語から現代語まで変化してきた日本語の歴史の概要を把握したうえで、日本語の歴史をとらえるための視点について解説する。
Although it would seem that the history of a language can be found by exploring old literature, literature is not the only source for the history of a language. There are also various problems in exploring old literature. Therefore, here we will consider how to explore the history of a language (the history of the Japanese language) by looking at specific examples of the Japanese language. At the same time, after grasping an overview of the history of the Japanese language as it has changed from ancient to modern languages, we will explain the perspectives from which the history of the Japanese language can be captured.
(1) 日本語の歴史について、その流れを略述し、重要事項が説明できるようになる。
(2) 言語の歴史を明らかにする方法について説明できるようになる。
(3) 日本語の歴史および日本語史の方法に関する問題点を見出し、それを説明することができるようになる。
The purpose of this course is to help students
(1) be able to outline the history of Japanese language,
(2) be able to explain important matters of Japanese language history,
(3) be able to explain how to reveal the history of language.

上記の「到達目標」に即して、筆記試験およびいくつかの講義内の課題で総合的に評価する。詳細は開講時に示す。
テキスト：大木一夫『ガイドブック日本語史』ひつじ書房2013。その他、必要な資料・テキストは印刷して、あるいはPDFで配布する。
参考文献は講義内で随時示す。
(1) 指示されたテキストの必要範囲を読み、十分理解して参加する。
(2) 前回の講義内容およびそれに関わる事項を確認し、その要点を身につける。
講義時にスマートフォン、タブレット、ノート型コンピュータなどのインターネットに接続できるデバイスを使用する（いずれでもかまわない）。
