アーリヤ人の宗教と生活
Life and relgion of the Āryan people
本講義では，最古の『リグヴェーダ』（紀元前1200年頃編集固定）をはじめとする各ヴェーダ学派の諸文献に基づき，アーリヤ諸部族が持っていた宗教とその整備過程，並びに社会の変化を辿りながら，各学派，各文献ジャンルの特徴について概説する。できるだけ多くの原典翻訳に触れることによって，伝承実態の理解をも目指す。
This course provides an overview of various Vedic texts, starting with the oldest one that dates back to 1200 B.C., the Rigveda. The aim is to get students aquainted with history and craracteristics of various Vedic schools and their primary texts in connection with the Āryans’religion, life and social development. Weekly readings of translated Vedas in class will help students see the successive nature of the Vedic religious tradition.
・当時の人々が世界をどのように理解していたかを，インド最古の宗教文献群ヴェーダVedaの伝承に則して把握することができる。
・宗教儀礼および宗教文献の整備と社会の変化とが連動していることが理解できる。
Upon the completion of this course, students will be able to interpret the Āryans' views on life and death in line with the ancient Vedic tradition. They will also gain a better understanding of relations between the development of religion and social change.

2. アーリヤ人の宗教と生活１ 移住遊牧生活から定住生活へ： 異部族との接触，祭官階級と王族階級（ヴァルナ［四姓］を巡る議論），都市国家の成立（自由思想家達の台頭と仏教興起を視野に入れて）
3. アーリヤ人の宗教と生活２ ヴェーダ祭式概説： 部族全体の繁栄を祈願する祭式と，部族長個人のライフステージに応じて行う祭式
4. アーリヤ人の宗教と生活３ ヴェーダ文献概説： ヴェーダ学派と文献ジャンル，祭官組織
5. リグヴェーダ 神々を讃える言葉の力１ 文献の編集方針と祭官家系，伝承スタイル，世界の創造と人類の起源

This is a lecture-centered course. The contents and schedule are as shown below:

13. Brāhmaṇa literature
14－15. Upaniṣads
(the lecture content is subject to change)
課題提出（随時，40％），レポート（60％）
The final course grade will be calculated as follows:
Written assignments 40%, final report 60%.
資料を配付する。参考書は授業で指示する。
Reading and reference materials will be distributed in class.
予習として前回の資料と指示された参考資料に目を通す。復習として動画資料を視聴する。
講義の前には，前回までの講義内容の中に不明な点がなかったかを，プリントやノートで確認し，講義後には，その日の内容に不明な点がないかを確認する。不明な点があれば，メモしておくこと。特に，素朴と思えるようなものでも疑問は放置せず，質問してください。質問は歓迎します。

後期のインド学概論と併せて履修することが望ましい。
It is recommended that students combine this course with “Indological Studies (General Lecture)” in the second semester.
