いわゆるファシズムの核となる要素の一つに政治的プロパガンダというものが存在するが、それは一方向的な上からの宣伝であるにとどまらず、当時の社会に適合する形で加工され、効果的な形で展開されることによってはじめて影響力を持つことができた。この演習では、ナチス・ドイツの事例を中心としながら、スターリニズム、ニューディール、日本の天皇制ファシズムとの比較において検討し、ファシズムの政治的表象とプロパガンダの特徴についての考察を深めたいと.考えている。
One of the core elements of so-called fascism is political propaganda, which is not only a one-way, above-the-belt propaganda, but could only be influential if it was processed and deployed in an effective manner that suited the society of the time. In this exercise, we would like to deepen our discussion on the political representation of fascism and the characteristics of propaganda, focusing on the case of Nazi Germany and examining it in comparison with Stalinism, the New Deal, and Japanese imperialist fascism
説明会を除いて全7～8回で完了する。1回につきテキスト1章ずつを読み進める。各章の内容を報告する担当者を特に置くことはしないが、全参加者が毎回指定箇所に関するコメントを考えて披露すること。コメントをもとに議論を進める。
2つのテキストのあいだ、もしくは最後に書評の回を設ける。各参加者が選定した1冊以上の本（ただし研究書）についての内容紹介と論評を行う。
The course will be completed in 7 or 8 sessions, excluding the briefing sessions, with one chapter of the text per session. There will be no specific person in charge of reporting the contents of each chapter, but all participants are expected to come up with comments on the designated sections each time. Discussion will be based on the comments.
A book review session will be held between or at the end of the two texts. Each participant will review one or more books (but not research books) selected by each participant.

１）テキストの内容について、まずは丁寧に読んで理解し、わからない事象や用語にぶつかった場合には、図書館の資料などを使って可能な限り調べをつけておく。
２）余裕があれば授業中に紹介された参考文献などをひもときつつ、コメントを考える。
1) First, carefully read and understand the contents of the text, and if you encounter unfamiliar events or terms, research them as much as possible using library materials.
2) If there is room, students are encouraged to think about their comments by referring to the references introduced in class.
この演習は研究大学院前期課程と公共政策大学院の合同授業とする。大学院の演習であるので、例えばファシズム成立の時代背景などの基本的事項、具体的事実関係について詳しく解説することはしない。参加者が各自の課外学習の中で下調べをしてから授業に臨むこと。
This exercise will be a joint class between the Master's Program of the Graduate School of Research and the Graduate School of Public Policy. Since this is a graduate school exercise, we will not provide detailed explanations of basic information such as the historical background of the establishment of fascism, for example, or specific facts. Participants are expected to do some preliminary research in their own extracurricular studies before coming to class.
