授業の目的と概要/Object and summary of class

The objectives of this class are 1) to learn relevant statistical theories and improve computer programming skills, 2) to acquire hands-on experience writing lengthy reports, and 3) to complete the draft of a Project Report or Thesis. Students continue research on a topic decided in Seminar in Econ a and b and Project Guidance in Econ a. This class is designed for the second-year student.

学習の到達目標/Goal of study

Students should progress with their theses/projects and complete them by the end of the term.

授業内容・方法と進度予定/Contents and progress schedule of the class

Students are expected to show progress in their research regularly and submit a term paper (50-100 pages). At the same time, they learn statistical methods and a programming language to apply statistical theories to economic and financial data.

成績評価方法/Evaluation method

Term paper(100%).
No credit will be given if there is evidence of plagiarism.

    Prerequisites: Microeconomics I & II, Macroeconomics I & II, and Econometrics I & IIy as well as my "Seminar in Econ a and b" and "Project Guidance in Econ a".
