Asian Economics (Seminar Ia)

この授業は、アジアに生起する特定の経済問題に関する実証研究の成果を産出することを目的とする。授業において、必要な学習を行い、先行文献を読解し、一次資料を収集整理し、実証分析を行い、最終的に研究成果の産出へとつなげ、上記目的を実現する。
The purpose of this class is to encourage participants to publish empirical papers regarding some specific economic issues emerging in Asian regions. For this purpose, we will learn related theories, read previous studies, collect primary data, conduct emipirical analysis, and finally write a research article as the output of this class.
到達目標：参加者がなんらかの形式（タームペーパー、ディスカッションペーパー、雑誌論文など）で研究成果を公表する。
Each participant of this class publishes his or her research output as term papers, discussion papers, or research articles in academic journals etc.
内容：個人ないしグループの研究テーマを定め、関連する理論や先行研究のリビューを実施する。一次資料を収集整理し、実証研究を通じて、設定した問題に対する答えを導く。研究を一つの論文として完成させる。方法と進度予定は、教員と参加学生の相談によって定める。
Contents of this class are as follows. First, we set our research topics. Second, we review theories and previous studies regarding the topics. Third, we collect and process primary data necessar for empirical analyses. Fourth, we conduct empirical analyses. Finally, we write papers regarding the topics.
方法：授業形式ではなく、演習形式で実施する。
This class is given in a group-practice style, not in an ordianl lecture style.
進度予定：教員と学生の相談によって決める。第１回目に進行計画を決める。
The schdule of the class in this semester will be determined by agreement between the instructor and students. The schedule in this semester will be determined in the first seminar.
研究成果によって成績評価を行う。/ Evaluated based on students' research outputs of this class.
関連理論や先行研究の学習、一次資料の分析、実証研究の遂行、研究成果の執筆を教員の指導のもとで進める。

この授業は基本的にアジア経済論研究室に所属する大学院生の参加を想定している。他研究室に所属する学生であり、本授業の履修を希望する場合、事前に担当教員に連絡をとりその履修許可を得ることを必要とする。
This class is basically designed to provide collective learning opportunies for the students belonging in the Asian Economy Laboratory. Students belonging in other laboratories and want to take this class have to contact the instructor and to get his approval in advance.
