授業の目的と概要/Object and summary of class

　演習Iと同様、経済史に関する文献を教材に発表・討論を行うが、ここでは各自の研究テーマに沿った実践的調査研究に重点を置く。特に史料の調査・分析法の習得を含め、研究テーマに即した「自立的」研究能力の養成を目指し、論文の作成を進める。演習IIでは、演習Ｉbにおける研究結果を総括し、論文の完成に向けて論理の組み立て、史料分析、文献引用方法を中心に、これらを厳密に行う能力を養うよう指導にあたる。

In this seminar, students will continue to explore the differing concepts and tools used in the study of Economic History. Participants are also encouraged to adopt a comparative approach in order to see the differences and similarities between Asia and European economies from a wider historical perspective. It is essential for students to learn how to conduct a proper historical research and to prepare for writing a dissertation.

学習の到達目標/Goal of study

• 研究テーマに応じて先行研究のサーヴェイを行い、争点について正確に論述することができるようになる。
• 関連史料の収集と分析を通じて、独自の議論を展開する能力を身に付ける。

• Students are expected to understand contrasting courses of economic development, which converged and diverged along the route to a modern industrialized society.
• Students are also expected to learn how economic problems are closely linked with political and social issues in a historical context.
• This is a seminar style course intended to allow students to have in-depth discussion between　themselves so that they can develop their research skills for writing up a dissertation.

授業内容・方法と進度予定/Contents and progress schedule of the class

各自の研究テーマに応じて、先行研究の調査、関連史料の分析結果について報告してもらう。それらに基づき、論文の草稿作成を指導する。


The details of the course content and schedule will be explained at the first meeting in Week 1.

In this seminar, students are required to prepare for the assigned part of the designated books and articles for each class. It is also important for students to write a long essay on their research interest.

Reading materials will be suggested in the opening session.

成績評価方法/Evaluation method

平常の成績、報告、レポートにより評価する。

Presentation and participation: 50%/ Essay: 50%
