古文書の保全 Passing on "Komonjo"
日本の地域社会には、推計20億点もの古文書資料が眠っているとされています。1990年代以降は、特に自然災害を契機とする古文書の大量消滅という事態とも重なって、社会全体でそれらを残していこうとする動きが、大きな動きになりつつあります。各地で、歴史や文化財の専門家のみならず、地域住民やボランティアなど幅広い参加を募る形での保全が繰り広げられています。この講義では、活動を具体的に体験学習しつつ基本的な知識や技術を身につけるとともに、だれの、なんのために古文書を残すのかを考えるきっかけとしていければと思います。
なお、この講義では古文書の内容を読む部分もありますが、そうではない部分も多いので、歴史学を専攻しない人、理系の方でも、「古文書という物体」に興味のある方の受講を歓迎します。
Since the 1990s, especially in conjunction with the mass disappearance of archives triggered by natural disasters, a movement to preserve archives has been gaining momentum in Japan's communities. In many places, preservation activities are being conducted not only by specialists in history and cultural properties, but also by local residents and volunteers with broad participation. In this lecture, we hope to provide an opportunity for students to gain basic knowledge and skills through hands-on learning of specific activities, and to think about who and for what purpose they are preserving ancient documents.
In this lecture, there will be some reading of the contents of ancient documents, but there will be many other parts as well, so we welcome those who are interested in the "object of ancient documents," even if they are not history majors or science majors.
・「歴史文化的な史料の保存と継承」という、日本の地域社会の問題について認識する。
・市民社会の一員として、自らが暮らす地域の歴史を伝えるための担い手となり得る基礎知識を身につける。
・To recognize the issue of "preservation and transmission of historical and cultural materials" of local communities in Japan.
・To acquire the basic knowledge to be able to be a leader in conveying the history of one's own community as a member of civil society.

・地域の歴史資料の調査保全は、教室の所定のコマ数のみで実施することは不可能である。よって現地調査や、報告会を実施するための課外学習時間が相当程度発生する。
t is impossible to conduct research and preservation of local historical materials only in the prescribed number of classroom hours. Therefore, a considerable amount of extra-curricular study time is required to conduct field surveys and debriefing sessions.

・講義人数については5人程度、最大でも10人程度に制限する。受講者多数の場合は選考を実施する場合がある。
・実地調査の滞在費は受講者の負担とする。
The number of lecturers will be limited to about 5 or 10 at the maximum. If there are too many participants, a selection process may be conducted.
Participants shall bear the cost of their accommodation during the on-site survey.
