Introduction to Mathematical Logic
Mathematical logic is a branch of mathematics that formalizes and analyzes our logical thinking.
In this lecture, we will first study the components of logical thinking. Next, we will learn the basics of propositional logic and predicate logic.
Goals:
Understanding the nature of logical thinking and mathematical proofs.
Being familiar with the formal treatment of logic.
Understanding soundness and completeness of propositional logic and predicate logic.
