サンスクリット語基礎演習Sanskrit （Introductory Seminar 2）
この授業では、サンスクリット語初学者を対象に、古典サンスクリット語初等文法を講義します。サンスクリット語はインドの諸宗教の聖典語であり、南アジアの文化の基礎をなします。この地域の宗教・文化の理解を深めるには必須の知識です。この講義では、古典期文献を翻訳するため、サンスクリット語文法を概観することとします。
This course is a lecture on Classical Sanskrit Grammar for beginners. Sanskrit is the scriptural language of the various Indian religions and forms the basis of South Asian culture. It is essential knowledge for a better understanding of the religions and cultures of the region. This lecture will provide an overview of Sanskrit grammar in order to translate Classical Sanskrit literature.
この授業の終了時には、学生は以下の能力を獲得していることを目標とします：
1) 音韻規則を理解できる
2) 動詞の活用形を分析できる
3) 平易なサンスクリット語の文章を訳せるようになる。
The goals of this course are to
1) be able to understand phonological rules,
2) be able to analyze conjugated forms of verbs,
3) and students will be able to translate plain Sanskrit sentences.

毎回、演習の時間をとり、出席者全員に単語の文法的解析と翻訳をしてもらう。また、インド学の知識を身につけ深めるため、印欧諸語に関説しながら古代インドの世界観、神話、生活文化等をも解説する。

Each week students will analyze and translate texts from their textbook. To acquire and deepen knowledge in Indology, it will be explained issues in myths, cosmology and lifestyles in ancient India referring to the Indo-European languages.

成績評価は毎回の授業の課題達成度（50％）および翻訳課題の達成度（50％）による。
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
--- the quality of the student’s in-class performance (50%) and
--- the quality of the student’s translation of the assignment (50%).
教科書の練習問題を解説するので、指定された箇所を予習しておくこと。文法事項を暗記するのではなく、サンスクリット語の構造を理解するよう心がけること。
Students are required to prepare the assigned part of exercises before each class, and try to understand the grammatical structure of Sanskrit rather than memorize paradigms.
