人類の宇宙観の変遷と、最新科学で明らかになった宇宙像
[Trainsition of our view of the universe, and the latest view of the univrse clarified by technology and science]
最新の望遠鏡や観測衛星により、新たな宇宙の姿が次々と明らかになってきてた。宇宙全体は膨張し続け、銀河は合体し、太陽系以外にも無数の惑星が生まれている。最新の天文学は、私たちにより広い、より深い、より豊かな宇宙像を教えてくれる。
その一方、天文学は最も古い学問のひとつでもある。なぜ人々は宇宙を観測し続けてきたのだろうか。中世の西洋世界では、天界は神の世界であった。天文学は、私たちの宇宙観、世界観と密接に関わるものであった。天文学の進歩は、私たちの世界観をどう変えてきたのだろうか。新しい宇宙像、人類の宇宙観の変遷、この2点を柱に講義を進めていく。
[Recent telescopes and astronomical satellites allow us to understand what the universe is, and what is going on in the unvierse. The universe continues to expand, galaxies marges, and a number of extra-solar planets are being formed. Developements in astronomy and astrophysics tell us how large, how deep, and how rich the universe is.
Astronomy is one of the oldest fields of science. Why have we been observing the unvierse? The universe was the world of God at the Middle Ages in Europe. The structure of the universe is closely related to the view of the world. How our view of the world have been changed by astronomy? "New view of the universe", and "the transition of our view of the universe", these are two main subjects in this course.]
本講義は、最新の宇宙の観測から得られた現代の宇宙像を理解し、科学の進歩にともなう私たちの宇宙観の変遷を理解することを目的とする。また科学史としての宇宙観の変遷を例にとり、多面的、多角的な思考の重要性を身につける。
[The purpose of this course is to understand the structure of the universe, and the history of the transition of our view of the universe. By studying the transition of our view as an example of history of science, I want to foster personnel with multilateral viewpoints and a multi-faceted perspective.]
2024年度の講義は、感染状況を考慮しつつ、対面とオンデマンド形式の動画配信1を併用する予定である。
授業は、以下の3つのテーマに沿って進めていく。「現代宇宙観までのみちのり」「観測装置の発達と宇宙の膨張」「第2の地球を探して」。

本講義では、ガイダンスと期末試験を除く14回の講義に対し、講義のまとめを記述したレポートを提出してもらう。このレポートの評価と、期末試験の点数で成績を評価する。
For lecture 2 - 15, reports will be assigned. This course grade will be based on 50 % weekly reports.
レポート：50％、期末試験：50％の総合によって評価する。
