地理学基礎論
Fundamentals of Geography

授業の目的と概要/Object and Summary of Class

本講義では、自然地理学ならびに人文地理学の諸理論ならびにその応用研究について紹介する

This lecture introduces analytical approaches to physical and human geographies with their fundamental theories and applied studies.

学修の到達目標/Goal of Study

自然地理学：　自然環境の成り立ちおよび自然環境と人間活動との関わりを理解する．
人文地理学：　人・コミュニティ・都市社会における多様な空間スケールにおける空間的プロセスを理解する。

Physical Geography: Understand the processes of the natural environment and the relationship between the natural environment and human activities.
Human Geography: Understand the spatial processes of human behaviors, communities and urban societies at various scales.

授業内容・方法と進度予定/Contents and Progress Schedule of the Class

講義にて、以下の自然地理学・人文地理学の理論および応用分野を紹介する

自然地理学
(1) 地球の熱収支，地球温暖化
(2) 地球の気候
(3) 氷河期と気候変動
(4) ステレオグラムと地形
(5) 流域
(6) 水文現象
(7) 地盤災害

人文地理学
（1） 空間の認知：人はどのように世界を理解し、描き出しているか
（2） 空間行動：人はどのように選択し、動くのか
（3） 都市生態学と都市モデル：都市社会の空間的な分析から何がみえるのか
（4） 経済立地論：都市や企業の空間的な配置に関する原理とは
（5） 応用分野：健康の地理学、犯罪の地理学、災害の地理学

（人文地理学を先に講義する予定）

This lecture course will introduce various theories and applied fields of physical and human geography.

Physical Geography
(1) Earth's heat balance, global warming
(2) Earth's climate
(3) Ice age and climatic change
(4) Sterogram and topography
(5) Drainage basin
(6) Hydrologic basics
(7) Natural disasters

Human Geography
(1) Spatial cognition: how do people understand the world and express the space?
(2) Spatial behaviours: how do people choose and move in geographical settings.
(3) Urban ecology models: how is urban space socially organised?
(4) Economic location theory: how does economic theory explain urban structure and distributions of cities and firms?
(5) Applied fields: geographies of health, crime and disaster

(Human geography will be lectured first, followed by physical geography.)

成績評価方法/Evaluation Method

毎回指示するミニットペーパーでの簡単な課題提出（30％）および期末試験ないし課題レポート得点（70％）の合計によって評価する。教室で実施する期末試験を行うか、課題レポートとするかは、受講生の規模やCOVID-19の流行状況等によって判断する。
Evaluation will be based on the total score of submission of minute-paper each lecture (30%) and the final exam or assignment report (70%).
Whether to conduct the final exam conducted in the classroom or as the assignment report will depend on the size of the enrolment, the prevalence of infectious diseases and other factors.

必須ではない。ただし、資料はすべてオンラインで配布するため、その閲覧にはPCやタブレット等が便利であろうと思われる。It is not required. However, since all hand-out materials will be distributed online via google classroom, a PC or tablet may be useful for viewing them during the lecture.
