Introduction to Linguisitcs

授業の目的と概要/Object and Summary of Class

この授業は、前半8回と後半8回で異なる教員が担当します。
This class will be taught by different faculty members for the first 8 sessions and the second 8 sessions.
前半8回では、現代言語学の研究目標，研究対象，分析方法，基的概念などについて学びます。
In the first eight sessions, students will learn about the research goals, research objects, analytical methods, and basic concepts of modern linguistics.
後半8回では、前半に続き言語学の基礎的概念と分野について学んだ後、「文法化」という特定な研究分野についてもう少し詳細に学びます。
In the latter sessions, after continuing the general introduction to linguistics, students will learn in some more detail about a specific area of research, grammaticalization.

学修の到達目標/Goal of Study

前半 First 8 seesions
（１）現代言語学の研究目標と研究対象を理解する。
To understand the purpose and research objects of modern linguistics.
（２）言語学の基礎的な概念を理解し，それを使って身近な言語現象を自分なりに分析できるようになる。
To understand the basic concepts of linguistics, and be able to analyze familiar linguistic phenomena.
後半 Second 8 sessions
（３）前半から継続して、言語学の基礎的分野と概念の理解をさらに広げる
Expand the understanding of basic concept of linguistics into two more fields
（４）研究分野の一例として文法化研究の基礎的知識と理解を得る
Develop some basic understanding of the particular field of grammaticalization studies

成績評価方法/Evaluation Method

前半の成績と後半の成績を合わせて1学期全体で、概ね次のような基準で総合的に成績評価を決定します。
　授業時間中の活動 50%、レポート 25%、筆記試験 25%

Grades for the first half of the semester and the second half of the semester are combined to determine the overall grade for the entire semester, generally based on the following criteria:
- Class activities: 50%
- Reports: 25%
- Test: 25%

授業は全て対面で行います。
資料の配布や課題の提出等にGoogle Classroomを使用します。クラスコードは初回の授業でお知らせします。
All classes will be conducted face-to-face.
Google Classroom will be utilized for the distribution of materials and submission of assignments. The class code will be provided during the first session.
