東北大学の歴史 ／History of Tohoku University
私たちが学ぶ東北大学とは、どのような個性を持った大学なのでしょうか。本講義では、東北大学がどのような歴史を歩んできたのかを学ぶことによって、大学や学部などの特徴を歴史的に理解することを目的とします。
What sort of a university is Tohoku University? This course covers the history of Tohoku University to help students understand the characteristics of this University from a historical perspective.
（１）自らの学ぶ大学、学部、研究所などの歴史的特徴を理解し、他者に説明することができる。
（２）自らが学ぶ大学の歴史について、史料の読解を踏まえて叙述することができる。
The goal is for each of you to acquire the following knowledge and abilities through this course.
(1) To be able to understand and explain Tohoku University’s history by using some concrete example.
(2) To be able to survey and describe the features of your university, department and laboratory from a historical point of view.
（１）授業内容・方法
創立から百周年までの東北大学の歴史を、大きく15のテーマに分けて学ぶ。講義、グループディスカッション、フィールドワークから構成される。
講義には、ペアワーク、ビデオ視聴、クリッカーを取り入れる。毎時間の終わり（15分程度）に、講義の振り返りのため、ミニットペーパーの記述をおこなう。グループディスカッションでは、近年の大学入試改革案の是非について、受講者による議論と発表をおこなう。
原則として対面授業を実施する（オンライン授業はおこなわない）。Google Classroomを使用して、レジュメ配布、宿題レポートの提出、授業録画のオンデマンド配信などをおこなう予定。

授業への参加と理解度（40％、ミニットペーパーを使用）、宿題（10％、ミニレポート）、期末レポート（50％）によって評価する。
４0% of your grade will be based on attendance and understanding of the course (Minute Paper), 10% of the grade depends on homework, and the other half will be based on the final paper (50%).
予め提示した下記の課題について予習・復習（全体として、3～5 時間程度）を行ない、Google Classroomを通して提出する。
(1)大学の歴史に関するビデオを視聴して、ミニレポートを作成・提出する（１回）。
(2)グループディスカッションに関する文献を読み、ミニレポートを作成・提出する（１回）。
(3)グループディスカッション・フィールドワークを振り返り、ミニレポートを作成・提出する（各１回）。
(4)期末レポートを作成・提出する。
Students will be requested to write some short essays after the class.

グループワーク・フィールドワーク実施上の都合により、受講制限をおこなうことがある。
5回以上、欠席した学生の単位修得は認めない。
オフィスアワーは火曜１３時～１５時とする。事前にメールなどでアポイントメントをとることが望ましい。
Classroom capacity may be limited.
A student absent more than 5 sessions will not be given any credit.
Office hours are from 13:00 to 15:00 on Tuesday.
