家畜育種理論の基礎と家畜への適用
Fundamental animal breeding theory and its applications for livestock

授業の目的と概要/Object and Summary of Class

遺伝的能力を高めるための基礎的な理論と乳用牛、肉用牛、豚および鶏への適用法についての知識を身につける。また、家畜化の歴史、品種の成立、進化理論についても学習する。出席確認と質問を受けるため、講義の終わりには原則として毎回ミニットペーパーを記入してもらう。
This course aims to learn about the basic theory and its applications for the genetic improvement of dairy and beef cattle, pigs, and chickens. This course also provides explanations of the history of domestication, establishment of animal breeds, and theory of evolution. Students will be generally requested to complete the “Minute Paper” at the end of the class, because the attendance is checked and the questions are gotten in every lecture.

学習の到達目標/Goal of Study

集団遺伝学や計量遺伝学を通し、家畜における育種価推定や遺伝的パラメーターの推定方法について理解を深める。
The goal of this course is to deepen understanding of procedures for breeding value estimation and genetic parameter estimation in livestock through population genetics and quantitative genetics.

出席を含む平常点、レポートおよび試験によって総合的に評価する。
Evaluation is performed comprehensively based on attendance, some reports, and the final test.
