科学英語論文の構成の理解とその作成法、読解法ならびに検索法の習得

授業の目的と概要/Object and Summary of Class

科学論文とは、実験や観察により得られたデータの科学的重要性を第三者が見て理解できるように書かれる。従って文学作品とは異なる比較的平易な文章を用いて明確な論理展開がなされる。通常国際社会に向けた情報発信は英語が使われており、英文の論文を読み、その情報を正確に理解することは研究者にとって必須の技術である。
本講義では、論文が掲載されるまでのプロセスや論文がどのようなセクションによって構成されているのか、また自分に必要な論文や情報をどのように検索するかについて理解するとともに、具体的に英語論文を読んでその内容を理解してまとめることにより、科学英語論文の講読法について学ぶ。
In scientific articles, unlike literary works, importance of the experimental data is logically and clearly argued by means of plain writing so that it can be understood by third persons. Since information toward the global society is generally communicated in English, the ability to read and understand English articles with accuracy is indispensable to researchers.
This course aims to improve the students’ ability to read and understand scientific English articles through a lecture about the organization, preparation, the processes from submission to publication, and search of the articles as well as practical reading.

学習の到達目標/Goal of Study

科学英語論文の構成や作成法を学び、論文内容を理解できるようになると同時に、必要な論文の効率的な検索ができるようになる。
Students understand organization and preparation of the scientific English article as well as its scientific information and also develop skills to effectively search the necessary articles.

(Intensive Course) Students are lectured about the organization, preparation, processes from submission to publication, and search of scientific English articles.

レポートによって評価する。
Submitted reports are evaluated.
