反芻動物の動物生理科学的特徴
Physiological characteristics of ruminant animals
反芻動物は、その消化吸収機構が単胃動物と大きく異なる。本講義では、反芻動物の消化生理の特徴を単胃動物と比較することによって明らかにする。さらに、産業動物として重要な役割を果たしているウシを中心にして代謝の内分泌制御、泌乳生理、産肉生理、代謝障害について講義を行う。
Ruminant animals have different digestion and absorption mechanisms from mono-gastric animals. In this course, students can deepen their understandings of the characteristics of digestive physiology of ruminants by comparison with mono-gastric animals. In addition, this course provides the knowledge on endocrine control of metabolism, lactation physiology, meat physiology, and metabolic disorders.

反芻動物であるウシは、産業動物の中でも重要な家畜である。ウシの栄養生理学の基礎を知ることにより産業における応用動物としての役割について十分な知識を身につける。
Ruminant animals, especially cattle are important livestocks as economic animals.
The purpose of this course is to help students better understand the importance of animal phygiology in the development of animal industry.
