1. Class subject
This class covers the concepts and analytical methods of basic mechanisms to achieve desired mechanical motions.

2. Object and summary of class
Learning the principle of simple mechanisms is important for a better understanding of the complicated motions of mechanical systems. Aiming to achieve better mechanical designs, this class will focus on the basic concepts of the mechanisms. Students will also learn several mechanisms such as links, cams, gears, and so on.

3. Goal
At the end of this class, students are expected to understand the basic concept of the planning and designing of mechanical systems.

Review: You should read reference books and the textbook, and run over the assignment the lecturer or TA returned.

Students are required not only to submit class assignments but also to review each class using handouts. If there remain any parts they cannot understand, they should ask questions in the next class.

成績評価方法及び基準（E）／Evaluation methods and criteria

Submission of drawings for each practice assignment is required for credit. Grades will be evaluated in consideration of attendance, drawing quality, and the final examination.
